A few active days are expected during the rainy season. Samir Shrestha, a meteorologist with the Water Resources and Meteorology Department, said the monsoon is active due to the influence of water vapor from the Bay of Bengal. He said that light to moderate rains will occur in most parts of the country in the next three days.
The department has called for necessary precautionary measures as water levels in rivers and streams may rise due to the possibility of heavy rains in some places, which could increase the risk of erosion, landslides and skidding in hilly areas.
Heavy rains with thunderstorms are possible in one or two places in Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki. Light to moderate rains are likely to occur in most parts of the country on Monday.
