504 Nepalis have returned home after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.
As of Sunday evening, another 356 Nepalis had registered their details on the Consular Services Department’s portal for rescue and repatriation, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Following the recent political developments, the government has set up a working group for the rescue and repatriation of Nepalis stranded in Afghanistan.
The working group held its seventh meeting on Sunday and discussed how to rescue Nepalis still stranded in Afghanistan, coordination with neighboring countries, the process of their repatriation after their rescue and other related issues.
The rescue operation was carried out on the basis of the stranded Nepalis registered on the portal and their details provided by the Nepalese Embassy and Situation Center in New Delhi.
Similarly, the rescue can be done by contacting mobile numbers 9749326458 and 9749326459 through Viber and WhatsApp. Friendly countries are helping to rescue the stranded Nepalis by sending flights to Kabul.
